micro wedding

Annie and Tom

I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to blog Annie & Tom’s incredible Glencoe elopement! With the ever changing rules around weddings Annie & Tom decided to adjust their plans and elope in the Scottish Highlands, and I for one am so happy they did! It’s not often you get a glorious sunny day in the middle of March in Scotland, so I was feeling a wee bit smug on my drive up to Glencoe! After a lovely relaxed morning getting ready followed by a wonderful first look overlooking Cuil Bay, we headed over to Glencoe Lochan - a magical spot in amongst the mountains and pine trees which Annie & Tom had chosen for their ceremony. It’s always such a treat working with Claire The Humanist as I know she’ll pull an amazing ceremony out the bag, and needless to say this was no exception. It was so lovely to hear a wee bit more about Annie & Tom from where they first met to where they are now, and Claire told their story perfectly. After the ceremony we enjoyed a piece of delicious homemade wedding cake and a glass of bubbly, and it was then off to explore Glencoe and take in all the breath taking scenery, which isn’t in short supply believe me! We then made our way back to Cuil Bay where we treated to a spectacular sunset. The perfect end to the most wonderful day.

I must give a couple of shout outs, firstly to Barbara from Wild Flower Workshop for her green fingered wizardry, secondly to Annie & Tom’s gorgeous wee dog Cracker for being ridiculously adorable, and last but by no means least, Annie’s mum, who not only made their delicious wedding cake, but also Annie’s stunning dress!

Melloney and Jeremy

Melloney & Jeremy’s amazing micro wedding in the heart of the Perthshire countryside had everything I love about weddings all rolled into one. Wonderful locations, incredible details (especially the gorgeous blooms by the super talented Studio Seapink), and above all, a lovely bunch of folk. After a magical hand-fasting ceremony on the banks of a misty Loch Tay we headed over to the magnificent Taymouth Castle for photos and Cornish pasties (a great choice of wedding day snack I’m sure you’ll all agree!). It was then onto the lovely wee church of St Columba’s in Dunkeld for a wonderful, intimate wedding ceremony. The day was topped off with a reception at my all time favourite spot - Ballintaggart Farm, where we managed to catch the last of the light for some magical photos before everyone tucked into what I’m sure was a delicious feast of culinary delights! A HUGE thank you to Melloney & Jeremy for inviting me along to be a part of their fabulous celebrations, I had the best day!

Megan and Josh

I honestly cannot sing Megan & Josh’s praises highly enough! Having had to adapt their wedding plans not once but three times, including a last minute change of day to avoid the torrential rain, they pulled off the most incredible day surrounded by their nearest and dearest in the spectacular setting of Braemar in the Cairngorms. After a wonderful first look in the morning we headed off to the hills above the River Dee to soak up the amazing views and autumn sunshine, before heading back for the most magical ceremony under a canopy of pine trees. The day was topped off with a piper led stroll into town followed by a fabulous reception at the equally fabulous Fife Arms. In a time when all our lives are filled with such uncertainty, with big wedding plans postponed or cancelled, it’s so wonderful to see folk like Megan & Josh thinking outside the box to have a wedding day like no other!
