outdoor wedding ceremony

Kate and Mike

My lovely cousin Kate and her equally lovely partner Mike decided to plan a top secret elopement to the North West Coast of Scotland at the incredible Shieldaig Lodge, and I was so chuffed to be asked along to capture it for them. I was under strict orders to keep it under my hat and not tell any nosey family members, but when they finally broke the news and shared their photos it was so lovely to hear how happy everyone was for them.

The day was full of special moments, and the wonderful personal touches and attention to detail made it even more magical. The morning started in rather energetic fashion with a paddle boarding expedition round the bay, accompanied (begrudgingly!) by Kate’s gorgeous wee dog Leni. After admiring the incredible birds of prey in front of the hotel and warming up with a nice cup of coffee it was time for the main event. Kate & Mike both looked amazing in their fabulous outfits, with Kate going for a simple, but elegant silk dress along with a really cool pair of personalised converse, and Mike, his super smart Royal Marine attire. The ceremony was every bit as perfect as the setting, with wonderful personal vows and Whiskey drinking from the quaich. It was really important from Kate & Mike’s perspective to make the day as personal as possible, so having Russell (a Royal Marine Padre from Arbroath) there to conduct the ceremony made it even more special.

We then spent a lovely afternoon eating cake, chatting and exploring the hills and beaches around Badachro. The perfect end to the most amazing day.

Kirsty and Rodolpho

Kirsty & Rodolpho’s wedding bonanza at the fabulous Comrie Croft was a real feast for the senses! With Kirsty being an amazing artist and coming from a family of street performers, along with Rodolpho’s Brazilian charm and musical talents I knew I was in for a treat, and they certainly didn’t disappoint! The barn was full of wonderful homemade creations, with my personal favourites being the Frida Kahlo cocktail bar and an enormous puppet called Stella who made a guest appearance in the afternoon! After the most magical ceremony in the woods above the croft conducted by no other than Kirsty’s amazing Dad - Mike, everyone headed back down to the courtyard for cocktails, speeches and plenty of samba vibes! The day was topped off with lots of raucous ceilidh dancing and the most amazing sunset, not a bad way to spend a Monday I must say!
